An educator-oriented overview

Fire and Flora is a serious game. This means that it is indeed a game, but one that is designed for more than just entertainment. Players will learn about real-world ecological patterns and processes, and engage in the four C’s (critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication).

However, most importantly, players will learn that exploration and experimentation are worthwhile efforts. They will learn that the time and energy invested in learning can produce payouts that are satisfying on many levels. This is a deep, somewhat squishy, but powerfully important fact. By helping to demonstrate this fundamental truth, Fire and Flora (and other serious-type games), can help to create lifelong learners, people who are knowledgeable and engaged in the workings of our world.
