My current focus is on building a web presence, on spreading awareness among teachers, parents, kids, and anyone else interested in playing serious games, or in doing outreach through play. Once this is done, I plan to run a Kickstarter campaign, with the goal of collecting enough funding to finish up the game design, and then to do a first printing of 500-1000 copies.
While Kickstarter is a great way to run a campaign, and can magnify existing buzz, but in order to be successful, you need to have a minimum level of buzz and visibility when you begin the campaign. Hence, my current focus on the Web and on community. So the best way to help this project is to use your voice to help improve its visibility. There are several ways to do this. In increasing order of effort:
- Like the game on Facebook
- Become a fan of the game on BoardGameGeek
- Help organize a playtesting session. I want to make this game the best that it can be, and that means collecting feedback from the widest possible range of people. If you can gather up a group of interested folks, contact me (unnumberedT@gmail.com) and we can work something out.
- If you’re a professional scientist or educator, or connected with a science or education oriented organization, you could endorse the project, or give a shout out to your membership. Please contact me (unnumberedT@gmail.com) if you’re interested in doing this.
